The Nigeria Football Federation under the leadership of Amaju Melvin Pinnick has said it has absolute believe in the abilities of the present Super Eagles squad piloted by Big Boss, Stephen Okechkwu Keshi, to qualify for the Nations Cup next January.
The NFF Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akniwunmi, made this declaration while addressing players and officials after Wednesday evening’s training at the Package B of the Abuja National Stadium, otherwise known as FIFA Goals Project.
Keshi said: “We have absolute believe in this team and the technical crew and we are certain that we will not only win away from home in Congo, but come back in Uyo to pick the Nations Cup ticket.
“It’s difficult for a few people like you players to carry the weight of 170 million Nigerians but I urge you to please carry it and make Nigerians proud again, because we want to defend our title early next year.”
He announced that the Federation President, Pinnick, will be with the team before it jets out to Congo to deliver a special message to the team on Thursday.
The team applauded his presentation and promised that they will not disappoint Nigeria in the qualifiers against Congo and South Africa.
