New officials has been elected by the members of the Archdiocesan Board of Lectors at its general meeting, which took place at Holy Trinity Parish, Maitama, Abuja on September 24, 2017.
The new officials will pilot the affairs of the Board in the next four years in line with the decision of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, which pegged the tenure of officers of church societies, organizations and sodalities to a four-year non-renewable tenure.
The Archdiocesan Board of Lectors is an umbrella body of Lectors who are responsible for the proclamation of the word of God in all parishes in the Archdiocese of Abuja, otherwise known as the Lay Readers.
Those elected were Chris Nzeduru, President; Regina Tule, Vice President; Charles Anyanwu, Secretary General; and James Olekwu, Assistant Secretary General.
Others are Felix Antsa, Financial Secretary; Veronica Williams, Treasurer; Monday Ameh, PRO (I); Abang Mark PRO (II); Sandra Orji, D.O.S. (I); Amaechi Michael Agbo, D.O.S. (II); Alex Adum Provost (I); and Godwin Gyor Provost (II).
The outgoing President, Bro. Christopher Agoha, who led ABOL as a two-time President, on behalf of the executive appreciated the entire Lectors for the overwhelming support and unflinching cooperation given to them during their tenure and pleaded that same should be extended to their successors.
