The Nigeria Police Force said it has cleared and exonerated Ndiana Abasi Idongesit Udom, earlier declared wanted.
The Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, who stated this, said the Police are now waiting for the second suspect, Peace Ekom Robert, who was declared wanted on July 22, 2023, to turn herself in for questioning.
It will be recalled that both suspects, Udom and Robert, were declared wanted by the Police over alleged fraudulent conversion, criminal conspiracy, and threat to life, among other allegations.
Adejobi said that Udom had come forward and cooperated with the police investigators, adding that after thorough questioning and investigation, Udom has been cleared and exonerated in the said matter under investigation.

The Force spokesman said: “The Police appreciate his cooperation and commend his commitment in this regard and look forward to further cooperation if required during the said investigation. It is pertinent to state that the investigation remains active, and our efforts to bring the main suspect, Peace Ekom Robert, who is still at large, to justice, have been intensified. We urge anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to come forward and assist the police in this matter.”
According to Adejobi, the Nigeria Police was committed to embracing modern and rule-of-law-compliant means of investigating cases to have fairness and maintain justice in all ramifications.
“We therefore wish to appreciate the support and cooperation of the public as we work together to maintain peace, unity, and progress, and uphold the rule of law in Nigeria,” said Adejobi.
