The Rivers State Police Command says it could not arraign, on Thursday, three persons suspected to have killed a dispatch rider, Chukwuma Eleje, in Ada-George area of Port Harcourt.
Nnamdi Omoni, the spokesman of the command, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Port Harcourt on Thursday that it was due to absence of autopsy result.
Omoni said: “The Police cannot take suspects to court without first ascertaining the cause of death of the victim.
“We are hopeful that the autopsy result will be ready on Friday and immediately it is ready, the suspects will be arraigned in court.”
The suspects, Sodenye Mbatumkeke, Excel Naabe and Joy Eluwa were alleged to have murdered Eleje, who delivered a parcel containing phones to them from online sales platform, Jumia, and dumped him in a septic tank.
They were arrested by the Police on March 26.
