The police has nabbed a suspected gang of armed robbers that robbed and killed the Principal of Federal Science and Technical College, Doma, Nasarawa State and others.
The gang, which carried the operation on July 17, 2014 along the Doma-Lafia Road, was arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command.
The suspects, numbering four, were paraded on Monday at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, the state capital.
The Public Relations Office of the state Police Command, Ismail Numan, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, told reporters that the suspects were arrested following a tip off at about 1030am.
The PPRO disclosed that one Usman Musa, a member of the gang, was arrested at New Era Hospital while receiving treatment for bullet wounds.
Numan said subsequently, other suspects – Yakubu Ogi and Sadiq and Agabi Daniel – were arrested.
He said that all the suspects have confessed to committing the crime, even as he disclosed that a locally made pistol was recovered from them.
Numan said that investigation was ongoing as efforts were being made to arrest the remaining fleeing members of the gang.
The police spokesperson, however, expressed appreciation to members of the public for the cooperation being given to the police in the state.
He promised them that the police was not resting on its oars to rid the state of criminals.
