Kalu sad over Shuaibu’s death

Eminent businessman and former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has lamented the demise of former Super Eagles’ Coach, Amodu Shuaibu.
Kalu described the demise of the ex-professional footballer as a big loss to the nation.
According to Kalu: “It is unfortunate and saddening that Nigeria has lost yet another shining light in the world of soccer.”
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said: “I received with shock the news of the demise of ex-Super Eagles coach, Amodu Shaibu.
“It is a painful loss to the nation considering the expertise and the role of the ex-footballer in the development of sports in Nigeria.
“He died at a time his counseling on sports is most needed in the country.
“The four-time coach of the Super Eagles was an achiever in the field of sports and will be forever remembered for his contributions to soccer in Nigeria.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the deceased’s family at this sorrowful period.”
The business mogul urged the Shuaibu family to take solace in the fact that the ex- footballer made a name for himself in the football circle, adding that he was a mentor and rallying point for upcoming footballers.
While commiserating with the Shuaibu family and the Nigerian Football Federation, Kalu prayed God to grant the deceased a blissful rest and also give the sports icon’s family the fortitude to bear the loss.
