Injured Schalke 04 striker, Chinedu Obasi, was handed a call up for the Super Eagles’ Afcon 2015 qualifiers against the Red Devils of Congo and Bafana Bafana of South Africa in September.
The recuperating forward, whose injury worries are far from over, was shockingly listed to make his return back to the national team after several years.
The Eagle Online findings have it that Obasi, who was enterprising in the preseason, was left out due to injury in his club’s first round German Cup tie against Dresden on Monday.
Obasi, a member of the bronze medal winning Super Eagles in South Africa 2010 African Cup of Nations, was favoured by Stephen Keshi for the World Cup in Brazil.
The striker won 18 caps with the three-time African Champions and has scored four goals since winning his debut.
