The Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, has conceded defeat in the state’s governorship election to his rival, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of All Progressives Congress.
Samuel Aruwan, spokesperson of Kaduna State APC Campaign Council, disclosed this on Sunday.
According to Aruwan, Yero who conceded defeat called Malam El-Rufai on the telephone at around 3pm on Sunday.
He said: “He congratulated El-Rufai and wish him success, he prayed for peace and development of Kaduna state and Nigeria at large.
“El-Rufai in his response thanked Yero and wished all the best and hope to see him soon.”
El-Rufai equally confirmed the development on his Facebook page.
He wrote: “Just received a phone call from Gov Mukhtar Ramalan Yero congratulating me for winning the Kaduna Gubernatorial election. I thanked him too.”
