The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has established an unassailable lead over his rivals in Saturday’s governorship election in Rivers State.
Before the Independent National Electoral Commission suspended the announcement of results on Sunday, Wike had scored 737,158 votes from 16 local government areas.
His closes rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, was trailing with 77,410 votes.
The results from seven local government areas are being expected.
INEC said it would resume the announcement of results by 5pm.
