Nigeria’s U-20 women National team, the Super Falconets, defeated their Ghanaian opponents by 2-1 in a friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
Ghana’s Boateng Christiana put the home side ahead in the third minute.
Uchenna Kanu brought Nigeria back into the game with a super strike in the 11th minute as the first half ended one goal apiece.
A late strike by Winifred Eyebloria gave the Nigerian girls the hard-earned victory over their Ghanaian counterparts.
Super Falconets Head Coach, Peter Dedevbo, expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance against the Black Princesses.
Dedevbo said: “The girls did not played well in the first half.
“The Ghanaian girls enjoyed more possession of the ball.”
Dedevbo however assured Nigerians that the technical crew will correct all the lapses that were noticed before their next match.
The second leg of the friendly comes up on Sunday (today) at the Liberty Stadium, Dansoman, Accra, Ghana.
The friendly is one of the line up games for the Super Falconets ahead of the Women U-20 World Cup in Canada.
