Delta: Police arrest seven notorious armed robbers

Seven notorious armed robbers, including one Charles Maduabuchi, are presently cooling off at the Delta State Police Command.
Luck ran against the suspects after they terrorized Mile 5 and Ugbolu localities and were placed on the wanted list of the command.
They have been handed over to men of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Asaba for quizzing.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, said they have since confessed to the crime, having named some of other members of the gang who were at large.
Kalu listed those on wanted list to include one Ekene Amieke, their alleged gang leader, and one Ekene Amieke, whose involvement in past robbery operations within Anwai/Mile ‘5’/Ugbolu and environs, have caused many innocent citizens their lives
While she said the suspects would be appear in court, Kalu said a team of Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad operatives while on surveillance patrol in a bush around Maryam Babangida Road in Asaba, arrested one Sylvester Akere ‘m’ aged 30 years, Henry Ifeanyi ‘m’ aged 28 years and Gift Nnwfejakwu ‘m’ aged 28 years.
The suspects during interrogation confessed their membership of burglary and house breaking syndicate terrorising DLA/Maryam Babangida Road and Summit areas of Asaba.
Items recovered from them included one cut to size locally fabricated pistol, one iron cutter, three generators, two electric irons, one stabilizer, some cloths, recharge cards of various networks, one DVD player, 70 pairs of wrappers, NECO scratch cards, UPS machine and a radio set.
