The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, has commiserated with the Borgu Emirate Council and the government and people of Niger State on the passing away of the Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Haliru Dantoro, Kitoro 111.
Ahmed, in a condolence message, described the late monarch as a consummate politician, a statesman of note, a technocrat per excellence and a monarch with a midas touch, who touched lives far beyond his immediate domain.
He said: “The death of Emir Dantoro is not only a great loss to the Borgu Emirate, but Kwara State given the prominent role the late emir played in shaping the political history of the State as a politician when Borgu was part of the state and other positions he held in the state in his eventful sojourn on life.”
Governor Ahmed said it was painful that Nigeria has lost the wise counsel of the late Emir of Borgu who was a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as well as senator, apart from being a prominent businessman.
He prayed Allah to grant the family of the deceased, Borgu Emirate Council and Nigeria at large the fortitude to cope with the loss and grant the deceased aljanat fridaous.
