Dangote, Danjuma, Akpabio to receive lifetime Africa achievement prize laureates

The Millennium Excellence Foundation, an international organisation with headquarters in Ghana, has announced that three distinguished Nigerians are among the 2012 Laureate Recipients of its prestigious “Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize.”
With the nomination of these eminent Nigerians – Alhaji Aliko Dangote, General T.Y.Danjuma (Rtd) and Governor Godswill Akpabio – the great continent and all sons of Africa can bear witness and applaud their value and unwavering pursuit of enterprise, peace, good governance, rapid development and immense love for philanthropy.
The exalted 2012 nominated Laureates have exhibited an exceptionally high level of public service and private spiritedness that do not recognise tribal barriers, political colourations and religious discrimination in their respective engagements and fields of endeavour as they relentlessly intervene and cause social and economic interventions in the lives of people in order to liberate them from poverty and all forms of deprivations, a statement by the organisers of the award said.
The three distinguished Nigerians will be conferred with the Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize as African Laureates as follows: The dignified Prize for the Eradication of Disease in Africa will be conferred on Laureate Theophilus Danjuma; The glorious Prize for African Economic development will be conferred on Laureate Aliko Dangote; while the precious Prize for Sustainable Development in Africa will be conferred on Laureate Governor Godswill Akpabio.
According to a release signed by Ashim Morton and published on its website on http://www.eafgh.org/, the organisation said investiture event will be hosted by the Presidency at the State House in Nairobi, Kenya on the December 15, 2012.
African Heads of States, the leadership of the African Union, the Economic Commission for Africa and very eminent dignitaries from countries across the continent will witness the conferment.
Other recipients slated for honour at this year’s ceremony include: Mo Ibrahim of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Mohamed Mustafa ElBaradei, the former Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda.
Past recipients of the notable Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize include Laureate Desmond Tutu from South Africa, Laureate Wole Soyinka from Nigeria, Laureate Cyril Ramaphosa from South Africa, Laureate Dr. Kofi Annan former Secretary General of the United Nations, Laureate Ismail Serageldin from Egypt and Laureate James Wolfensohn former President of the World Bank.
