The Atlas Lions of Morocco will face their stiffest challenge in the competition when they confront the Super Eagles of Nigeria at Cape Town Stadium, South Africa on Saturday.
The Nigerian team are the overwhelming favourites to win the encounter.
Coach Stephen Keshi is optimistic about his team’s chances of progressing to the semifinal.
“I am not worried about Morocco. We know what our targets are and hope to achieve them,” Keshi said.
The referee for the encounter is Bernard Camille from Sychelles.
He will be assisted by Balkrisha Bootun of Mauritius and Mark Ssonko of Uganda.
The tie will kick off time at 4pm Nigerian time.
Moments at after the Nigeria/Morocco clash, the Eagles of Mali and their Zimbabwean counterpart will step out for the second semi final of the day.
Malians have indicated their seriousness at this year’s CHAN competition by qualifying for the quarterfinals as group winners ahead of Nigeria and host country, South Africa.
The Eagles of Mali defeated Nigeria 2-1, played a one all draw with Bafana and thrashed Mozambique 2-1.
Their opponents in Saturday’s encounter, Zimbabwe, were second best in Group B after amassing a total of five points from three matches.
This promises to be a tough clash as both teams have been playing total football.
Guinean referee, Aboubacar Mario Bangoura, will direct the game proceedings from the centre.
