Former President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday mourned the death of Da Yohanna Dalyop, saying that he had lost a good friend.
The message of mourning and condolence was released to newsmen by the former president’s spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu.
Shehu quoted Buhari as having said on Friday: “With the demise of Yohanna Dalyop, I have lost a valued friend, whom I have had the honour of knowing for decades.
“His insight on issues and nuanced understanding of matters, especially energy, had very few parallels.”
The retired Military General said the late Dalyop had dedicated much of his energy and time in the research and development of alternative energy sources for use in homes and institutions in Nigeria.

While joining family members, friends and professional colleagues, as well as the government and people of Plateau State in mourning the pastor and engineer, Buhari noted that Dalyop had successfully provided solutions to a number of challenges pertaining to energy in the country.
“He was a great statesman and a towering intellectual. His passing away is very saddening,” said the former president.
