The Independent National Electoral Commission has said there will be no fresh gubernatorial election in Kogi State. Rather, it will go with the result of the gubernatorial election conducted in the state last month. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the election, Captain Idris Wada, won. However, for other states where the Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the governors had overstayed their tenures, the commission has fixed dates for gubernatorial elections there.

A CRICKET umpire killed a teenage spectator in Bangladesh by hitting him on the head with a bat in a dispute over a contested decision.
