The Yoruba Movie Academy Awards is to confer awards on renowned actor, Chief Adebayo Faleti, and leading academic, Prof. Akinwunmi Ishola.
Also to be honoured on March 30 in Ibadan, Oyo State are Kola Ogunmola and Bisi Komolafe, both deceased Yoruba artistes.
A statement issued on Tuesday by Tunde Oshinibosi, the Executive Producer of YMAA, said the award was a strategic move to re-brand and reposition the Yoruba movie industry toward achieving greater heights.
Oshinibosi said: “We will continue the award because it is a motivational gesture to seek increased propagation of the Yoruba culture, race and ideals globally.
“Also, it is meant to honour and celebrate creativity among Yoruba movie actors and actresses as they propagate the Yoruba movie industry globally.”
