A husband, Musa Gobir has prayed the Area Court sitting at Centre Igboro, Ilorin, to grant him custody of five children after his wife applied for divorce.
Gobir prayed for the custody of all his children; Maryam 23, Ibrahim 21, Sa’adat 19, Medinat 14 and Kafayat 13 years old.
The wife, Mariam Musa, had earlier applied for divorce, saying that she was tired of the husband’s problems and did not want to die.
She objected to the husband’s demand for custody of the children and prayed to have custody of the children.
The presiding Judge, AbdulQadir Umar, told the defendant to produce evidence and witness towards getting custody of the children.
The court adjourned the case to July 5, for hearing
