Liverpool have signed 16-year-old Nigerian star, Ovie Ejaria, from Arsenal’s youth academy.
Ejaria has been in Arsenal’s ranks for seven years but was yet to sign a professional contract.
Liverpool were believed to have offered him a trial two weeks ago, which he duly accepted.
The teenage ace impressed Liverpool’s youth coaches and is set to sign with the Merseyside club on a permanent deal, which is certain to anger officials at the Emirates.
Arsenal have one of the best academies on the continent, promoting a number of homegrown players to the first team over the years.
However, Liverpool’s rise in the Premier League this season as well as the long-term philosophy of Brendan Rodgers, could have been decisive factors for the young midfielder.
Ejaria was eligible to compete for England on the international stage but has committed his future to Nigeria at youth level.
