The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Saturday’s presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has defeated the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, in the result declared on Tuesday night from Bayelsa State.
The results, declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, has it that Abubakar scored 197,933 votes, while Buhari polled 118,821 votes.
The result from Bayelsa State is the fifth from a record nine expected to be delivered to complete the declaration from the election held on February 23, 2019.
The first 27 states and the Federal Capital Territory had earlier been declared.
