Kogi State Government accuses Deputy Governor of accepting bribes

The Kogi State Government has accused the State’s Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba, of receiving bribes.
The allegation, coming on the heels of the rift between Achuba and his boss, Yahaya Bello, was made by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Edward Onoja.
Onoja, who spoke at a town hall meeting in Ibaji Local Government Area of the state on Thursday, accused Achuba of accepting gratification from contractors working on some roads in the area.
He said the deputy governor was under investigation for the alleged offence.
He thus blamed Achuba’s office for government’s failure to fulfill its promises to Ibaji people.
