The Senate on Tuesday summoned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over alleged threat to Senator Dino Melaye by the Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello, in collaboration with the Kogi State Police Command.
Melaye had alleged that there is an attempt to assassinate him by Bello.
He also claimed that Police refused to release his International Passport despite a court order.
Coming on the point of order, Senator Melaye alleged that there is attempt by the Governor to assassinate him, alleging that the Special Anti-robbery Squad came into his house in the midnight to execute him, but he has left before they came.
He told the lawmakers that he has already written to appropriate Committee, adding that this will be the fifth time that there will be an attempt on his life.
