The Rashidi Yekini Foundation is set to honour the 2015/16 highest goal scorer, Wikki Tourist’s Godwin Obaje.
The award ceremony is slated for Dipo Dina stadium, Ijebu- Ode, venue of the Gold Cup competition on Saturday, 26th of November,2016.
According to the facilitator and founder of the foundation, Barrister Jubril Mohammed, a plaque and a cheque of N100,000 would be presented to the prolific scorer.
“Rashidi Yekini’s highest goal scorer award has come to stay as it is in its second edition.
“We thank the organisers of the Gold Cup Competition who has formed a synergy with us to make this year’s edition a reality. After our deliberation, we deemed it fit to present the award in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state since Wikki Tourists will participant in the Gold Cup tournament,” he pointed out.
The award is named after African legend and formr Super Eagles’ striker, gangling Rashidi Yekini, who passed on 4th of May 2012.
