Queen Amina film: Another revolution in the making for Northern Nigeria

The shooting of the epic movie, Queen Amina, has been concluded.
Queen Amina was produced by Okey “Paulo” Ogunjiofor, the man behind “Living in Bondage”, the film that birthed the phenomenon known today as Nollywood.
Ogunjiofor just wrapped up filming the epic movie on location in Northern Nigeria after four months of production.
One month and a half was for training the cast and 105 days of principal photography.
It had 96 crew members and well over 2,000 artists directed by the Master Director, Izu Ojukwu, of the “76” fame.
The theme of the movie is women empowerment and the plight of the girl child.
A global story and an advocacy for more women in “leadership positions” as the world awaits the first female American president and bemoan the plight of the missing Chibok girls.
The film is supported by the Bank of Industry through its loan scheme facility, which has already been accessed by other notable Nollywood film makers.
According to the Line Producer of the film, Dan Chris Ebie: “The Queen Amina film was selected from among three other equally big film projects from the stable of Videosonic studios for the main purpose of integrating Northern Nigeria into the main stream of film production as what obtains in the South.”
The movie paraded few stars as the thrust is to discover fresh faces and new Nollywood stars.
The cast includes Clarion Chulwurah, Ali Nuhu, Yakubu Mohammed, Lucy Ameh, Magaji Mijinyawa, Godwin Ogaga and Asabe Abubakar and a host of talents from Northern Nigeria.
Queen Amina is one movie the whole North and indeed the entire country will be proud of when it hits the cinemas, the producer said.
