An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 19-year-old man, David Tunde Aderogba, to six months imprisonment for burglary.
The Magistrate, Halimatu Bashiru, sentenced him after he pleaded guilty to the charge of burglary.
Bashiru said the court had no option than to sentence the convict to prison without an option of fine.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that the accused committed the offense on August 30, at about 11:30pm, along Ebun Oluwa, Osogbo.
Abiodun said the convict burgled the apartment of the complainant, Shola Rapheal’s, and stole cosmetic products of a yet unknown value.
He said the offence committed contravened Section 413(1) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun, 2003.
Counsel to the accused, Najite Okobie, pleaded with the court to be lenient in passing sentence.
