The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, Godwin Emefiele, has been nominated as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Emefiele was nominated by President Goodluck Jonathan following the sack of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the CBN governor.
Jonathan on Thursday forwarded the name of Emefiele to the Senate for confirmation.
Also recommended for confirmation by Jonathan is an Executive Director of First Bank, Bayo Adelabu, who is to become a Deputy Governor of the CBN.
Adelabu is to replace Tunde Lemo, who is retiring.
