We are profiling thugs, people with questionable characters – DSS

The Department of State Services said on Wednesday that it was profiling political thugs and people with questionable characters across the country ahead of the general elections.

Marilyn Ogar, the spokeswoman of the DSS, disclosed this while fielding questions at a news conference organised by the National Information Centre.

Ogar said suspected thugs would be arrested before the general election.

She said: “There is profiling of those whose presence in certain areas cannot be easily and immediately be explained.

“We profile all people with questionable character and before the election, they are taken in.”

On the incessant political thuggery in Rivers State, the DDS spokeswoman said the service was investigating it.

Ogar said: “We are investigating.

“So, whatever happened will not go uncovered.

“Once you observe a new face, unexplained movement of people you do not know or sudden business concern cropping up around you, alert the security agencies.”
