Urhobo youths urge support for Dafinone

Urhobo youths have called on elders in the land to support Chief Ede Dafinone for the vacant senatorial seat.
Indeed, they told the elders and non-Urhobos resident in the senatorial district that they have looked round the zone and that there was only one person that could effectively represent the area in the senate, promote the people’s welfare and bring Federal presence to them.
“We believe Chief Ede Dafinone’s experience in the public and private sector, his deep knowledge and understanding of the intricacies and nuances of our society and his record in the accounting profession have sufficiently placed him in a vantage position to provide desirable leadership in Urhobo land and the Nigerian Senate” the youths said.
The youths in a statement issued in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government Area promised to campaign hard across the length and breadth of Urhobo land, noting that most of the rumoured contestants for the senatorial seat have nothing to offer the area.
Signed by the President General, Urhobo Youth Leaders Movement, Mr. Victor Oki, the statement extolled the charming qualities of the chartered accountant.
“Chief Ede Dafinone is a great son of Urhobo, a pride to Delta State and Nigeria. He is one with extra-ordinary flames of passion for the development of the less privileged people in the society. He opens doors of opportunities for Urhobos and promotes the cause of peace. Through his foundation, many have been helped. Indeed, he is a rare gem” they said.
The youths who also described Dafinone as an icon of democracy, justice, accountability and development, thanked him for improving the welfare of the women folk and playing great roles in the development of the people especially in the areas of education and entrepreneurship.
“We thank you for advancing the cause of humanity and helping to move the Urhobo nation forward without asking anything from the people”
Specifically, they urged the traditional rulers and chiefs in Urhobo land to encourage Chief Ede Dafinone to contest the senatorial election.
The youths appealed to the good people of Urhobo, of all shades of opinion and political persuasion, to join them in working for the electoral victory of Chief Ede Dafinone.
“Our ultimate goal, no matter where we stand on the political spectrum, is the uplifting of the Urhobo nation and the political, economic, cultural and social well-being of our people. His emergence will foster unity and progress in Urhobo land” the statement added.
