The leaders called on the PDP chapters in the six states of the zone to strengthen the party ahead of the coming congresses, charging those in attendance to go back home and mobilise more people to join the party.

The governor, while inaugurating members of the nine-man steering committee at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, said the programme was meant for post-COVID-19 economic recovery.
Makinde, who addressed State House Correspondents in Abuja, said the real enemies of the state are the criminal elements.
While speaking at the first sitting, which was held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan, the Chairman of the panel, retired Justice Badejoko Adeniji, assured members of the public that justice will be dispensed without fear or favour.
The governor’s aide maintained that most of the comments attributed to opposition elements on the security situation in the state missed the point due to pettiness, contempt and clear attempt to play to the gallery.
He stated that instead of backing a venture that is capable of throwing the country into ethnic crisis, the end of which cannot be foreseen, his administration would rather continue to support the security agencies in the state to do their works effectively.
