The Niger Government said it had spent about N254 million to construct and equip the maternal and new neonatal wing of the General Hospital in Minna.

He maintained that the state’s debt was sustainable to allow it access the N21.5 billion Sukuk bond being sought.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that the youths were engaged under the YES by the immediate past Peoples Democratic Party government of former Governor, Babangida Aliyu.

Hajiya Fatima Madugu, the Commissioner for Education, who disclosed ths during a press conference on Wednesday in Minna, said that Governor Abubakar Bello approved the payment at the weekly executive council meeting.

Madugu stated that out of the amount, N317m was expended on 15,811 students studying within the country, while N131m was disbursed for 113 foreign students.

The statement signed by Malam Jibrin Ndache, Bello’s Chief Press Secretary, said that motor cycle owners had been given up to April 1, to register their vehicles.

Habibu, who made the disclosure while defending the board’s 2018 budget at the House of Assembly, said that the figure was far below its target of N9.5 billion.

Mairam Kolo, the Director-General of the state’s Child Rights Protection Agency disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna.

Speaking at the inauguration of the forum, the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensure a safe and peaceful state, just as he stressed the need for proper management of security information.
