Sources within the party and government told our correspondents that President Jonathan was disturbed that despite giving campaign coordinators, ministers, special advisers, close aides and friends, support groups and traditional rulers over N2 trillion in cash, most of them could not deliver their polling booths and local governments

Jonathan explained that the funds would be channelled towards improving the quality of infrastructural and personnel developments and other teaching and learning facilities in the public institutions

President Jonathan believes that the late Prof. Tamuno, who was also a seasoned administrator, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan and notable public servant, will be long remembered and honoured for his very significant contributions to national development over several decades

“But see how President Jonathan just doused the tension. Even those who would have taken up arms to defend him were surprised. Whatever part they want to play in this new dispensation, let them play it peacefully

Buhari said: “Some unfortunate issues about my eligibility have been raised during the campaign. I wish to state that through devotion to this nation, everything I have learned and done has been to enable me to make the best possible contribution to public life. If I had judged myself incapable of governing I would never have sought to impose myself on it. I have served in various capacities and have always put in my best
