President Goodluck Jonathan with his wife, Dame Patient Jonathan, in company of the President’s mother on Saturday were accredited around 9:54am in his hometown, Otuke, Ward 13, Bayelsa State.
The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, also did his accreditation about 9:30am.
But this followed an initial tension earlier in Otuoke, Bayelsa State as the Card Readers appeared to be failing.
Almost 20 minutes after arriving at the polling unit, Jonathan, who is the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, could not be accredited.
Dame Jonathan resorted to the use of a hand fan to sooth her and her husband.
It was gathered that election materials arrived in Bayelsa State around 8:30am and the process of accreditation started by 9:16am.
Information gathered so far by our correspondent is that the card readers are functioning properly now.
