It is my pleasure to be in your midst today. I thank you for your invitation to me to be the Chairman of the 7th Annual Conference of your highly respected organisation. Our country is at an historic moment, having just witnessed a change of government at the federal level and in most states of the federation. The successful conduct of the 2023 general elections and peaceful handover of reins of power from one government and administration to another signify progress on our democratic journey. This is commendable.

TETfund has been doing very well in bridging the Infrastructural Gaps in Tertiary Institutions across the country especially now under the leadership direction of its current Chairman. Some States owned Institutions of Higher Learning have no source of capital budget except through TETfund. It is therefore good for Tetfund to look into other areas of national development and that’s why Research has become an important national agenda to promote.

The NDDC Executive Director, Projects, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, said this during a solidarity visit by a prominent Niger Delta Elder and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Olorogun Otega Emephor, at the Commission’s permanent headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Nigeria till date – July 25, 2020, has officially registered about 39,977 cases with 856 COVID-19 related deaths since the first case was registered in the country in February 2020. This is a good report when compared to reports from other much developed countries in Europe and USA. The USA for instance has recorded over 4.34 million cases with 149,552 deaths as of July 25, since their first case was recorded in January 2020.

In his presentation, tagged: “Harnessing CBN and other funding opportunities for small and medium enterprises in the emerging economic climate,” Emeka Agada, Head, SME, Ecobank Nigeria, stated that the bank will continue to harness and explore the various Central Bank of Nigeria intervention schemes and other funding and trade opportunities provided by Ecobank Nigeria for small businesses.
