Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos and the political godfather of the state, came out openly on Sunday to declare that he is opposed to Ambode’s re-election and is supporting his sole challenger, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ahead of the party’s much-postponed governorship primaries.
Tinubu made his position known in a statement he personally signed on Sunday.
The governor is currently deserted as critical stakeholders in the state have pitched tents with his rival, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Tinubu said this when he received Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and the newly elected state Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, at his residence in Ikoyi, Lagos State on Friday
