The Managing Director of NAN, Bayo Onanuga, announced this during a familiarisation visit to the Edo State office of the agency in Benin on Monday

Onanuga, who spoke to members of the “giant killing” squad shortly after they rounded up their training at the team’s Iganmu base, said he was certain they would defeat their first opponents, the Voice of Nigeria
“NAN was founded because our government and the entire Africa found out that reports were being written from the jaundiced views of those we called imperialists at that time and their news organs
Going down memory lane, the managing director recalled that NAN was established due to the need to tell Africa’s story by Africans, especially by Nigerians, rather than by the imperialists at the time
Mohammed said their tenure witnessed significant achievements by his ministry
The appointments were announced in Abuja on Wednesday by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed
He, therefore, urged the National Assembly to create an enabling environment for the establishment of state or community police to address the security challenges
