Bayo Onanuga, the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, says the agency is working towards launching its web television to provide visual services to its clients.
Onanuga disclosed this when the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Domestic and Foreign Debts, Senator Shehu Sani, visited the agency’s headquarters on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the agency would rely on its expertise to provide credible and authoritative video news materials to local and foreign clients.
According to Onanuga, this is another move by the agency to achieve the multimedia task of selling factual, accurate, balanced and timely video news products to the world.
“This will contribute to the efforts put in place to ensure that NAN remains relevant to Nigeria as well as an avenue to generate more funds for the agency,” he said.
Earlier, Sani commended the agency for its level of professionalism in information dissemination.
He urged all media practitioners in the country to adhere to the principles of objectivity and credibility in performing the task of information dissemination.
The senator said his huge appetite for NAN products was due to their level of credibility.
He, however, urged the agency to sustain the professionalism it has established over the years.
He said: “I have been in constant touch with NAN and its credibility profile is what endeared me to the agency.
“NAN has demonstrated outstanding performance over the years with great level of professionalism.”
