The NFF President, alongside the Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Barrister Chris Green, and the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Football Association, Emmanuel Iba, met with Emmanuel at the Government House in Uyo, where the Governor and his team assured the Federation officials that every item on the checklist for organization of the match was being painstakingly attended to

Reacting to the development, Pinnick said: “To fellow Nigerians, we call on the entire football fraternity to join us in praying for Carl, and wishing him the very best as he faces an arduous but not impossible journey to full recovery.

While inaugurating the 11-member Committee, headed by NFF 1st Vice President/Chairman of Organising Committee, Seyi Akinwunmi, Pinnick insisted that the Committee’s membership was strategically drawn based on the core services of the two competitions.

The NFF supremo, who is also a member of the CAF Executive Committee and member of the Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions, restated his administration’s resolve to tackling one of the big issues of Nigerian Football at the opening ceremony of this year’s FIFA Member Association Elite Programme for Nigerian referees, assessors and physical fitness trainers in Abuja on Monday.                                                                                                           

The high-calibre delegation to the 12th continental cadet competition is led by newly-elected CAF President, Ahmad, from Madagascar along with a member of the Executive Committee, Kwesi Nyantakyi from Ghana, and also includes 1988 African Player of the Year, Kalusha Bwalya, who would preside over the organising committee
