Scarcity: NNPC increases petrol allocation to Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has increased the supply of the Premium Motor Spirit to the Federal Capital Territory from 100 trucks to 150 trucks per day.
This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by the corporation’s Acting Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Omar Ibrahim.
The statement quoted the Group Managing Director of the corporation, Andrew Yakubu, as saying that the increase in the number of allocation was to reduce the noticeable queues in fuel stations.
“Ordinarily, we allocate about 100 trucks into Abuja, but with this intervention we have increased it to 150 trucks per day,” the statement added.
It noted that the GMD also led a team of the Corporation’s top Management over the weekend on the inspection of filling stations across the FCT.
It stated that Yakubu and his team visited no fewer than 12 stations across Garki, Asokoro, Maitama as well as Central Business District of Abuja.
The GMD, in the statement, pledged to extend the exercise to other areas of the FCT in the days ahead.
