Nigeria Premier League defending champions, Plateau United, has announced the demise of the club’s Physiotherapist, Damian Kuptong.
The Jos-based team via its Twitter handle: @plateauutdfc, confirmed Kupyong’s death.
“It is with heavy heart that we announce the sudden demise of our physiotherapist, Damian Kuptong, who died in the early hours of today after a brief illness. Our hearts and prayers are with his family,” the club tweeted.
Unconfirmed reports claimed Kuptong died on his way to an hospital in Enugu after suffering back pain.
He was at Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday when the Kennedy Boboye side lost by one nil to Abia Warriors in MatchDay Three of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
