Indigenes of Osogbo, Osun State under the aegis of Osogbo Affairs Forum have congratulated the National Secretary of All Progressives Congress, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, on his appointment as the Chairman of National Sugar Development Council.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement signed by the Convener and Chairman of OSAF Steering Committee, Prince Hameed Oyegbade and Abdulrahman Okunade, in Osogbo on Saturday.
OSAF said the appointment of the National Secretary of the APC as the Chairman of the Council was well deserved and laudable.
The group described Basiru as a pride and good ambassador of Osogbo that all indigenes and professionals of Osogbo extraction are very proud of.

The Forum recalled that Basiru, fondly called SRJ, served as Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Integration before he was appointed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Osun State.
The Senator was subsequently elected into the upper chamber of the National Assembly where he represented the Osun Central Senatorial District before his appointment as the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress.
According to the Forum: “In all of these offices where he had served at different times, Senator Basiru made us proud in Osogbo.”
The Forum expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for considering Basiru worthy of the appointment and prayed that God will grant him the wisdom to succeed in the assignment, while also calling on all sons and daughters of the town to sustain the spirit of love and unity that now reigns supreme among them.
