Nigerian striker, Osaze Odemwingie, appears to have had a go at political satire with a pair of cryptic Tweets mimicking a jargon-happy Nigerian MP.
Odemwingie, fresh from becoming the first Stoke City player to score at a World Cup, caused confusion when he told his 219,000 followers about “crinkum crankum” and “odoriferous Saga”.
Reports from Nigeria claim he was taking the Mickey out of Patrick Obahiagbon, who used to sit in the country’s National Assembly.
Odemwingie scored the only goal as Nigeria beat Asmir Begovic’s Bosnia on Saturday.
He explained his Bebeto-style goal celebration as a tribute to his new-born son, Theo.
The 32-year-old is now preparing to take on Argentina on Wednesday at 5pm.
