Osaze Odemwingie was left frustrated by a stubborn Greece side as Nigeria drew 0-0 in their latest World Cup warm-up match in Pennsylvania, USA on Tuesday night (wee hours of Wednesday in Nigeria).
The City forward played the opening 54 minutes at PPL Park, home of Philadelphia Union, but was unable to find a breakthrough in his second game back, following his return to the international fold.
Odemwingie couldn’t find the target when he struck towards goal in the opening stages, whilst his through ball to Ogenyi Onazi culminated in a smart stop from Greek keeper, Panagiotis Glykos.
He will be hoping for a more successful stint in front of goal if named in the team to take on the United States of America at the weekend, with Geoff Cameron in the opposition squad for Saturday’s game at the EverBank Field in Jacksonville.
The Super Eagles then begin their Group F campaign against Iran in Curitiba on June 16.
