The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Delta State on Tuesday said it arrested 86 people with illegal petroleum products in 2013.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Felix Egede, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Asaba that it confiscated102,850 litres of petroleum products from the suspects.
Egede, who revealed the products were seized from various locations, said the NSCDC also destroyed illegal petroleum products at three locations at Isaba General Area in Warri South.
He said that two Cotonou-bound boats and 12 vehicles were also confiscated by the officers and men of the command during the period under review.
Egede said that of the 86 suspects were arrested for allegedly vandalising Chevron Nigeria Limited’s pipeline located at Mukaraba Flow Station, close to oil well head 34.
