The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted chances of localized thunderstorms over Abuja, Yola, Mambila Plateau, Jalingo, Makurdi and Lokoja on Tuesday morning.
The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday.
The agency also predicted localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Jos, Kaduna and Lokoja in the afternoon, with day time temperatures of 27 to 31 degree Celsius.
NiMet predicted that the Northern states would also experience thunderstorms, especially over Yelwa, Sokoto, Bauchi and Nguru and their environs, with day time temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius.
According to the predictions, there will be chances of rainfall activities within the country in the next 24 hour.
NiMet predicted that the Southern states would experience cloudy conditions over Ibadan, Oshogbo, Shaki and environs, except Lagos, expected to have some showers in the morning.
The agency predicted prospect of rainfall activities around Ikom, Port Harcourt, Eket, Yenagoa, and Benin in the morning.
It said that coastal cities and places around Enugu, Onitsha, Akwa, Ebonyi, Owerri, Oshogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Akure, Owerri, Warri, Calabar, Asaba, Shaki, Benin, Abeokuta and Ogoja would experience rain in the afternoon.
It added that day time temperatures in those areas would be around 29 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius.
