A middle-aged man, Wale Agbaje, has allegedly beaten his wife to death during a scuffle over some domestic issues in Ilesa, Ilesa Local Government Area of Osun State.
It was learnt that the incident occurred at Iroye Street in the town on Monday.
An eyewitness said the couple had lately been engaged in altercation until the latest fatal incident.
The eyewitness recalled that after the couple had shouted at each other, the husband hit the woman, identified simply as Jumoke, with a block on the forehead.
Jumoke, who was said to have bled profusely following the attack, was rushed to a hospital for medical attention, but later died.
It was gathered that detectives from the Police ‘B’ Division Headquarters, Ilesa, arrested the suspect for interrogation.
Dorothy Gimba, the state Commissioner of Police, confirmed the incident, saying investigation into the matter has started.
