Liverpool offers Eaglets’ star £2,500-a-week deal

Premiership giants, Liverpool, has offered victorious Golden Eaglets’ midfielder, Chidera Ezeh, a whopping £2,500 per week to join the Anfield side.
Just as Liverpool is making efforts to secure the services of the youngster, Manchester City are also interested in Ezeh after landing his Nigerian Under-17 teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho.
The 16-year-old forward is heading to Manchester with his family after impressing in the recent Fifa Under-17 World Championships won by Nigeria last month.
Like Iheanacho, Ezeh had also been linked with a move to Porto, but City have now invited the youngster to the Etihad Campus while Liverpool have also set out their offer terms.
The Anfield club are prepared to give the player’s Nigerian academy £500,000 for his registration and enter into a partnership while they have offered Ezeh £2,500-a-week wage, which will increase slightly when he turns 18, according to agent Babawo Mohammed.
Mohammed said: “We have two clubs now interested in him.
“One is Liverpool and two is Manchester City but as I’m talking to you right now, Manchester City has already sent their invitation letter for him and his family to travel to London.”
The agent also revealed that a meeting was held with Liverpool officials in Abuja some weeks ago where the Anfield club offered Chidera a place in their Under-19 squad until he turns 18.
Mohammed said: “Yes we discussed with Liverpool in Abuja, they give us their terms.
“Although we have not yet signed with Liverpool, he (Chidera) is going to Manchester City to see what they want to offer so they can compare it with Liverpool’s offer.
“Liverpool have offered him to sign so that he can be with the Under-19 team for one year, so after he turns 18 they will promote him to the main team.”
Ezeh scored one goal at the Under-17 World Championships after starting against Argentina in the semi-finals but was mainly used as a substitute by Nigeria.
