Ahead of the July 30, 2016 local government poll in Adamawa State, one of the candidates on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Aliyu Wakili Boya, has said Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow has virtually finished their campaigns with his laudable projects on roads in the state.
Boya said though he has gone round the entire Wards campaigning and consulting with the people of Fofure Local Government Area canvassing for votes to be the Chairman, he realised Bindow had done much of the home work for the APC candidates in the 21 LGA vying for either chairmanship or councillorship seats with his people-oriented projects.
Boya refuted any media or propaganda by other political parties, telling the people of Adamawa State that the political stakeholders in the Local Government have endorsed a Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the chairmanship seat.
He called purported story as a mere “propaganda” that cannot have any head way.
He said: “Look, the entire political stakeholders of the party are in my campaign train.
“All of them have already converged in my house to take off for the day’s business.
“In fact, where is even PDP now?
“They are nowhere to be found in the state.
“So for anybody to tell you that, he is not serious at all.”
The aspiring chairman also said that the era of depending on oil and gas in the country had passed, adding that Nigerians should think outside the box to invent new ideas that can generate revenue for the country.
While fielding questions from newsmen in his house in Yola, Boya stressed that the Local Government he is hoping to chair is the largest in terms of land mass in the entire country and therefore he will unravel its hidden arable potentials.
He said: “My LG is the largest in the country and every day is a market in Fofure.
“In Gurin ward alone, we can produce rice that can feed the whole of the West African countries.”
Boya called on the people of the LG to remain law abiding and calm.
He said they should come out en-masse to vote for the APC in order to complement the good work that the Governor is doing in the state at the grass root level.
