Lagos Trade Fair: 101 exhibitors arrive from China

No fewer than 101 entrepreneurs and exhibitors from China will participate in the 2013 Lagos International Trade Fair, an official has said.
David Zhao of Brightway International Exhibition Corporation Limited, the coordinating agency for the Chinese contingent to the fair, said the exhibitors would come with 200 other participants.
Zhao told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Sunday that China’s pavilion at the fair holding at the Tafawa Balewa Square would be opened to visitors from Tuesday.
NAN reports that the fair started in Lagos on Saturday.
He said that Chinese businessmen, through the coordinating agency and China Embassy in Nigeria, had been participating at the fair since 2007.
Zhao said: “Chinese commodities to be showcased at the 2013 fair fall into four categories and they are machinery and vehicles, building materials, hardware and daily-used commodities.
“Heavy trucks and buses will be displayed in the open air by the pavilion main exhibition area, along with medical supplies, toys, spices, cosmetics and glassware.”
He said in the previous fairs, Nigerian businessmen had the opportunities to meet officials of big Chinese companies and producers of high cost-effective commodities, which had boosted economic and trade relations between both nations.
Zhao added that between 2007 and 2012, no fewer than 425 exhibitors and 1,000 participants from China participated in the Lagos fair.
