Nigeria’s coach, Stephen Keshi, admits he is disappointed that Liverpool are not playing Victor Moses on a regular basis, but promised the situation will be different for the winger at international level.
Moses was signed by Liverpool from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal last summer, being expected to play a key role at Anfield.
However, as the season has progressed, the Nigeria international has slipped down the pecking order, with Reds boss, Brendan Rodgers, regularly preferring other options.
And that is far from ideal for Keshi ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
“I am disappointed Moses is not playing but there is nothing I can do as I’m not Rodgers,” Keshi was quoted as saying by FIFA.
“I will talk with the player when he is here for the game,” he added.
Nigeria face Mexico in the United States on Wednesday, with the friendly a key part of the country’s warm-up plans.
And Keshi is keen to see how they perform.
He said: “What is most crucial is to see how we play as a team.
“It will give us an idea of some of those who are ready for the big stage.”
