Sheikh Abdullahi Bala-Lau, the National Chairman, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamatus Sunnah, on Thursday led the funeral prayer for late Sheikh Abubakar Giro-Argungu.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the funeral prayer was conducted at Argungu town in Kebbi State.
It was attended by many prominent Nigerians, including host Governor Nasir Idris and Senator Aliyu Magatakadda-Wamakko, former Sokoto State Governor.
Bala-Lau prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the funeral, Idris appealed to the bereaved family members, people of Argungu, Kebbi State and the entire Muslim Ummah to take heart and accept the will of God in good faith.
He described the deceased as a humble, honest and religious person who stood firm in promoting Islam.
Idris observed that JIBWIS and the Muslim community would never forget the active contributions of the deceased towards the propagation of Islam in Nigeria and beyond.
The funeral prayer and final internment was conducted at about 2:30pm in Argungu town.
